Heather (Fowler) Remoff, M.A. in Sociology. 1973
My forthcoming book, What’s Sex Got to Do with It? Darwin, Love, Lust, and the Anthropocene, will be released in January 2022. Charles Darwin’s book on the same subject, The Descent of Man and Selection in Relation to Sex, was published in 1871. My update to Darwin's theory expands our understanding of the power of sexual selection by including recent genetic discoveries and viewing reproductive choices through a female lens. Although my Ph.D. is in anthropology, I do my writing and thinking in the space between anthropology, biology, economics, and linguistics. In the final chapters of What’s Sex Got To Do with It, I argue that the search for solutions to our immediate existential problems of climate change and inequality will succeed only if grounded in an accurate understanding of our evolved species-specific traits.

How is everyone doing on this fine New York evening? Some of you know this, but I grew up in the East Coast and briefly went to college there and decided it wasn't for me. I traveled the world and somehow eventually ended up in Missouri through a weird set of circumstances.
At first I hated it, but then I grew to love it. I was working a fast food job and decided to take school seriously in order to level up and grow. I took a few behavioral tests, and I found that one of my strengths and needs is intellection or the idea of intellectual expansion. I wanted a mentor to teach me personal finance that no one ever taught me growing up and to move myself forward in society. I learned a ton of stuff and met a lot of great mentors at UMKC, and graduated with a degree in Finance, but then I had all this debt to pay off (let's be real guys) and I HAD to work a corporate job which was not my initial intention. I worked it for a year and was miserable but it paid the bills.
But...my prime years were passing me by and I had goals to accomplish that I couldn't through a corporate desk job alone (with a longterm horizon at that). I took a few years off and decided what I wanted to do. I moved to New York City and I decided I wanted to learn the Real Estate game. This was my final career change...But you don't even know what the ACTUAL reason was behind me wanting to make my final ever career change. No it wasn't the autonomy, the making my own schedule bit, or even the aspect of high financial upside relative to downside and upfront costs. Check out my social media for that (sorry for the plug UMKC).
Anyways that's the update...Some of you can identify with me...Some of you can't but that's perfectly all right. Have a gorgeous night everyone and pursue your passions and create a life that is worth living. If any of you need real estate done in NY don't hesitate to ask me. If you want me to point you in the right direction, the brokerage I work with is in nearly 50 states.
Sincerely,
Alexander Sung

I am currently serving as U.S. Cultural Ambassador for Hip-Hop with the U.S. State Department. Their program, Next Level, pairs hip-hop artists in the U.S. with artists abroad; much in the same manner as their Jazz Abroad programs of the past. I, along with three others, will be traveling to Egypt in December 2017 for this unique cultural exchange.
