The fifth annual UMKC Regalia Run 5K/10K and kids’ Kangaroo Hop was on Sunday, October 1, 2017! Both the 5K and 10K courses go through the heart of UMKC's Volker campus and around some of Kansas City's most beautiful spots, including the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Kauffman Gardens. Proceeds from the Regalia Run benefit UMKC student scholarships.

The Regalia Run is the kick-off to UMKC Founders' Week.

  • Register
    • Online registration will close on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at 2:00pm CST. You can then register onsite the morning of the race between 7:30-8:15am. Kangaroo Hop begins at 8:00am and 5K/10K begins at 8:30am. Registration is hosted by RunSignUp, an external website managed by KC Running Company.

      Registration includes a t-shirt and finisher's medal.

      Register as a team and receive $5 off the registration fee! A team must be a minimum of 4 participants and can be as large as you'd like. There will be prizes for the largest team and the most creatively dressed team.

  • Parking
    • PACKET PICKUP PARKING - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30
      Free parking is available in the Cherry Street Parking Garage, 5th floor. From the 5th floor, you can cross the walkway (south side of the garage) toward the Student Union. The Theater Lobby is located on the first floor.

      RACE DAY PARKING - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 1
      Free parking is available in the Cherry Street Parking Garage, 5th floor. Take the pedestrian walkway (east side of the garage) towards the Performing Arts Center that crosses over Cherry Street. You will walk by Durwood Soccer Stadium and around the circle drive toward Swinney Recreation Center. The University Walkway is located just beyond the entrances to Swinney and the Atterbury Student Success Center.


  • T-Shirt
    • All race participants will receive a gender-sized t-shirt on performance tech material, as well as a finisher's medal.


  • Volunteer

    • Our volunteer slots are currently full. Thank you!

      The Regalia Run would not be possible without our volunteers! We have a lot of different opportunities for those who want to help with the run, both on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. All volunteers will receive a free event volunteer t-shirt.


  • Donate or Sponsor
    • All race proceeds support immediate scholarships for UMKC students with high financial need across all colleges and schools.

      Consider supporting the Regalia Run through a scholarship donation or sponsorship! The Regalia Run is also in need of in-kind donations of goods and services, including food and drinks for runners, printing, signage, medals, t-shirts, and prizes.   • Bring Items for UMKC Kangaroo Pantry
    • Support members of the UMKC community in need by bringing monetary donations or items for the UMKC Kangaroo Pantry to the Regalia Run packet pickup on Saturday, Sept. 30, and at the Regalia Run on Sunday, Oct. 1. The pantry is most in need of the following items: canned meats, canned and boxed meals, granola bars, breakfast items (cereal, pancake mix, oatmeal), canned fruits, and peanut butter.
