Jazz Friends

Support Jazz Friends and make a difference in the future of Jazz!

The UMKC Jazz Studies Program rivals any in the nation. It is known for creating an encouraging environment to help each student develop their own sound. Under the leadership of Carl Allen, internationally renowned Jazz percussionist and educator, the students gain valuable experience working with local artists and performing with them at local venues.

Your Gift Makes a Difference!

Your gift to Jazz Friends helps the Conservatory provide scholarships to bring the best and most gifted students to the program. Jazz Friends aims to encourage the creative artistry of UMKC Conservatory students and faculty, provide financial support to attract talented students, heighten the eminence of the Conservatory’s Jazz Studies Program, and celebrate the legacy of Kansas City jazz. Your support will help us strengthen the legacy of our program and build the future of jazz through our students.

“Without this generosity, I wouldn’t be attending the school I’ve dreamt of attending since 7th grade. I appreciate all of your support in helping students like me to attain our goals.” – Ethan, string bass ’21
